All the good things I’d read about Raglan Road before making my reservation did not prepare me for just how awesome this place is. At first we had to wait outside for a bit before a table opened up, but as soon as we were whisked inside toward the belly of the beast, I found myself delighted and excited by the warm atmosphere and bright energy. That being said, FORGET not having a reservation. I heard the hostess tell someone that the wait time was at least an hour without one. It was Saturday night… I guess I’m not surprised.
The big ticket item in all the reviews was the Raglan Road version of the classic Shepherd’s Pie. After much deliberation, I decided to try it. BOY was this good. I got some worth-it extras like melted aged cheddar on top and peas on the side. The large helping of meat is seasoned really well, and the gravy it’s served with is sooo yummy. On top is cheesy mashed potatoes and a crispy garlic slice. I HIGHLY recommend this one, but just about everything on that menu sounded super savory and delicious.
My boyfriend got the fish and chips but is not convinced of their claim to be “world famous.” He says it was just okay.
With no room for dessert, we made our way back happily onto the streets of Downtown Disney. It’s a shame there isn’t more to do there than eat and shop :(
