The Bearded Pig

Holy canoli, did I get lucky this week! My boyfriend scored a free gift card for some pro bono work to the new BBQ joint in town, The Bearded Pig. But he’s a pescatarian, so it was me who got the honor of picking out whatever I wanted from their menu – sweet! Since I was feeling kind of lazy that night, my boyfriend was kind enough to grab me some take out :)

Their menu offers standard BBQ fare like ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, along with the usual sides of baked beans, potato salad and mac & cheese. What’s NOT typical is their Bearded Poutine! A Southern BBQ take on the classic French comfort dish. We’re talking crispy french fries, burnt ends, pulled pork, cheese curds, and pimento cheese. How could I resist?! Even after a ride in the car, the poutine was delicious. It even heated up nicely in the oven the next day when I polished it off :)

Since this meal was totally free, I really wanted to sample as much as I could. So I ordered The San Marco, which comes with 1/4 rack of giant ribs…

I’d say I definitely got my money’s worth. Everything was delicious, but my absolute favorites were the sides, the brisket and the pulled pork. They even gave me some pickles and onions to make a proper pulled pork sandwich with my dinner roll :) Their homemade bbq sauces are tasty, but I’ll always love my Bull’s Eye Original the best! If you’re in the market for some awesome BBQ, I highly recommend you check out the Bearded Pig <3
